When I was a kid, I always wanted a twin. I thought it would be so cool to have someone to play with who looked exactly like me and was my best friend. My 17-year-old sister, Olivia, is actually a twin with my brother, but she looks more and more like me everyday, so I guess I finally got what I wished for. This probably happens with most siblings, but with us, our permanent names have become “Lauolivia” and “Olilaura” by our parents. You probably have some rendition of your name that’s mixed with your sister’s that you’ve grown accustomed to hearing when your mom is calling you down for dinner or when you overhear your parents talking about you. Even if you don’t live in your parents house anymore, they probably still feel like you’re there because they have your sister around.

Olivia hasn’t gone to prom or graduated high school yet, but I can bet that when she goes to those events and has her picture taken, they will look exactly like my prom and graduation pictures. You probably have pictures from milestone events that your sister is just now going through and you can definitely see yourself in her.
