Fifteen years ago today, there was a gravedigger in our neighborhood who has passed away. His name was Muhammad Yusuf. Strong body and big eyes full of light. Faith shone from his face. Rainy face, his only routine was to leave the house in the morning and return from the graveyard in the evening. He always walked on the side of the road and did not look down on anyone.
I have passed. Tell us an incident. On hearing this, Yusuf became serious and took a deep breath and said. Today I am 27 years old. I am making graves. The same incident happened to me. It was a summer afternoon. Some people came to me to make Babaji graves. I asked if he was a man or a woman. So he said that the woman … She died of electrocution. I usually make graves alone. I started making graves in the scorching heat. The grave was completed by half past two in the afternoon. To give the final touch to the grave, I hit the inside of the grave, then I heard a sound like something broken glass and then the fragrance spread and the grave became cold. I lay down in the grave. It was very hot outside and cold inside And it was full of fragrance. It made my soul happy. I remained silent in surprise and terror. The funeral came after Maghrib. The woman’s heirs buried her and left, but I was full of curiosity as to what is the virtue of this woman who has received such a great reward. By the way, I had learned that this woman was living inside Farid Gate Bahawalpur and had died due to electric shock. My ancestors were living here. I reached Farid Gate asking and found out about the woman. Her husband had died some time ago. He remained ill for six or seven years. This woman served him day and night. Despite her serious illness, she did not betray him and took care of him wholeheartedly. Despite her poverty, she worked hard to feed him and sacrificed her feelings for her sick husband who served selfless humanity for the sake of Allah Almighty and stayed awake in the way of Allah even at night. Allah Almighty has said about these people that I will give such rewards which no eye has seen and no one has even imagined. Blessed are those whose graves are full of fragrance and coolness. May Allah forgive us and all Muslims and grant us coolness in the Hereafter
